Humidity and temperature control is extremely important in the agriculture industry. Excessive heat and humidity can result in your livestock succumbing to heat exhaustion and heat stroke. If you have silos and/or produce or grain storage facilities, excessive heat and humidity can cause your crops to mold and rot before they’re ready to sell. Thankfully, installing the correct industrial agriculture fans from Industrial Fans Direct can help you keep your barns, animals, storage facilities and silos within the desired temperature range and humidity levels, and they can also help you control the build-up of odors and other unpleasant smells as well.
Benefits of Agriculture Fans
Utilizing quality grade fans and other ventilation equipment in agriculture is essential when it comes to breeding, raising and caring for livestock, like hogs, sheep, goats, cows, chickens and horses. All of these animals are susceptible to heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Not to mention, they all produce excrement, which can lead to high levels of ammonia and other unpleasant smells in your barns, holding and breeding facilities. Installing one or more agriculture fans, including shutter, boxed wall and slant wall agriculture fans, can help keep the air flowing and reduce heat and humidity levels in order to ensure your livestock are comfortable and not experiencing any unusual amounts of stress.
When it comes to the production and storage of grains and other fruits and vegetables, it is imperative that the heat and humidity levels are controlled. Excessive heat and humidity in produce and grain storage facilities can mean that it takes your corn longer to reach the desired moisture level, and it can result in grains and whole fruits and vegetables growing mold and rotting. Installing air circulating fans and exhaust fans can reduce the risk of mold, mildew and rotten vegetables so that you can maximize your yield and profits.
Types of Agricultural Fans
In order to control heat levels and keep the air moving, we offer many different types of exhaust fans, air circulating fans and duct fans that can be installed in barns, warehouses, grain and vegetable storage facilities and silos.
We offer shutter mounted, boxed or cabinet wall, poly and fiberglass wall, slant wall and galvanized cone wall exhaust fans. These types of fans are perfect for removing stagnant, hot, humid, odor-filled air from all types of indoor livestock and produce storage facilities. Many of these fans offer variable speed operation, and they come in fan blade sizes ranging from 9” to 72”, depending on type and style of fan required. We carry exhaust fans ranging from 600 to 54,000 CFM.
Air Circulating Fans
When it comes to keeping the air moving within your agricultural facilities, one of the simplest ways is to install one or more air circulating fans. These fans range in size from 12” to 50”, and can move up to 28,000 CFM. Many of these air circulation fans offer variable speed control to slow down or speed up the blade speed, thus decrease or increasing the CFM output. Our air circulating fans are designed to be either wall or ceiling mounted so that you can position your new agricultural fan in the correct location to maximize air circulation, and by keeping the air moving, you will be reducing heat and humidity that can make your livestock sick and contribute to the premature spoilage of your grains and/or produce.
Multi-Purpose Duct Inline Fans
For agricultural facilities that already have air ducts, consider installing one or more multi-purpose duct inline fans. These fans can help pull in fresh outdoor air and vent stale, moisture-laden air faster than your HVAC system alone. These fans are great for indoor breeding facilities, dairy houses and livestock barns. These versatile fans can be purchased with blade sizes between 4” and 55”.
