QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • I need an exhaust fan for welding in a 2400sq ft building. How many sq ft will this fan handle?

If your building has 15' ceilings this fan will ventilate the building once every 3 minutes approximately.  You may want to go to our CFM Calulator to see what size fan you will want.

  • does this fan have a back draft damper

The AX series exhaust fans include the gravity shutter / damper as seen in the photo.

  • Could this fan be used in a paint booth?

Thank you for your question.  We typically recommend our explosion proof fans if you will be spraying any solvent based primers/bases or clears in your booth.

If you are only spraying water based products, the unit you chose will work.  However, it is out of stock at the moment, here are some good alternatives:

  • Will the dampers keep rain from coming in the building?

Thank you for your question.  Yes, the dampers are designed to keep rain and dust from entering your interior space while the fan is off.  They are gravity operated, so extreme directional wind from a severe weather event could potentially open them and allow rain in.

  • THE SHUTTER BOX OUTER DIMENSION IS 38 3/4X 38 3/4, CAN I MAKE THE OPENING THAT SIZE

It is suggested to make the rough-in opening at least 1/4" larger than the dimension of the fan box.

  • why do they require the opening to be 1/2" bigger

Different manufacturers use different rough-in requirements. You may be able to rough-in 1/4" larger and be fine.  We always suggest receiving the fan before making any openings.

  • MAINTENANCE

These fans do not require much in the way of maintenance.  If in a dusty environment, the fan blades, guard and motor may need to be dusted for best performance.
