The intake can be placed either on the ceiling or can also be installed on the wall. Sometimes, there might not be an attic space, or very little attic space above a specific room. A lot of times, there is attic space on the wall maybe leading to a hallway attic. If you do choose to place this fan on the wall, you will need a vertical wall adapter. The purpose of this adapter is to let the dampers close correctly. Dampers are used to stop heat and cold loss inside the home. Without this adapter, air will escape from the house to the attic or the other way around. Energy Saver motors allow this whole house fan to move 1468 CFM yet draws just 61watts of power.
