QUESTIONS & ANSWERSAsk a Question
It says flapping and opening on windy days what do you recommend to not have that happen or is there a different type of fan
We would suggest purchasing an all weather hood for this unit: All Weather Hood
Can you use a temperature control switch for this model
Thank you for your question. Yes, the thermostat linked below would work great with this fan:
What is the flange depth. if I wall mount it, (24" fan) flush inside on a piece of 3/4" plywood, how much will stick outside?
The shutter box depth, or the portion that passes through the wall is 2" deep for this unit.
The Installations instructions do not address the optional vairable speed controller. I assume I run a wire from my breaker to a switch box to install the variable speed controller at ground level. Then I run wire from there to an outlet box to plug the fan into. Can I hard wire direct to the fan to avoid the need for an outlet box? will that void the warranty? Does the speed controller have an off position or do I need a seperate on-off switch?
Yes. You can hardwire directly to fan. This will void the warranty since you will need to cut the plug / cord on the fan.
Yes. The control can be turned to an Off position.
How are the speeds changed on the SFV24C fan? It has a cord so I assume there might be a switch on the fan motor? If not, how much noisier will a speed control add to the decibel of the fan?
This fan is to be used in conjunction with a variable speed control that is not included, but can be purchased separately as a Highly Recommended Item on the fan product page.
