QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • It says flapping and opening on windy days what do you recommend to not have that happen or is there a different type of fan

We would suggest purchasing an all weather hood for this unit: All Weather Hood

  • Can you use a temperature control switch for this model

Thank you for your question.  Yes, the thermostat linked below would work great with this fan:

    https://www.industrialfansdirect.com/collections/controls/products/vc012-c

  • What is the flange depth. if I wall mount it, (24" fan) flush inside on a piece of 3/4" plywood, how much will stick outside?

The shutter box depth, or the portion that passes through the wall is 2" deep for this unit.

  • The Installations instructions do not address the optional vairable speed controller. I assume I run a wire from my breaker to a switch box to install the variable speed controller at ground level. Then I run wire from there to an outlet box to plug the fan into. Can I hard wire direct to the fan to avoid the need for an outlet box? will that void the warranty? Does the speed controller have an off position or do I need a seperate on-off switch?

Yes. You can hardwire directly to fan.  This will void the warranty since you will need to cut the plug / cord on the fan.
Yes. The control can be turned to an Off position.

  • How are the speeds changed on the SFV24C fan? It has a cord so I assume there might be a switch on the fan motor? If not, how much noisier will a speed control add to the decibel of the fan?

This fan is to be used in conjunction with a variable speed control that is not included, but can be purchased separately as a Highly Recommended Item on the fan product page.
